1Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park(130km - 2 hours)
Pick up from Arusha Crown Hotel at 0800am and drive on tarmac road 130km with lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park (330 sq km or 127 sq mile’s) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the Afternoon game drives. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s bird life. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded. This Park contains also five distinct vegetation zones. Thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. The Manyara National park is also famous for its large flocks of flamingos. 2Twiga Campsite - Serengeti National Park(205km - 4 hours)
Breakfast at around 0700am. Pick up from the Camp at 0800am and drive to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq mile’s) with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. The great herds graze on rain ripened grass. Serengeti National Park is a home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocs and more. Lot of birds includes the Eurasia migrants. Follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. 3Full Day Serengeti National Park
Very early morning game drive in the vast Serengeti plains. Breakfast at 0900am. Continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti national Park. Game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. As enduring as the game-viewing is the liberating sense of space that characterizes the Serengeti Plains. Yet, after the rains, this golden expanse of grass is transformed into an endless green carpet flecked with wildflowers. And there are also wooded hills and towering termite mounds, rivers lined with fig trees and acacia woodland stained orange by dust. Popular the Serengeti might be, but it remains so vast that you may be the only human audience when a pride of lions masterminds a siege, focused unswerving on its next meal. 4Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim(145km - 3 hours)
Very early morning game drive. Breakfast at 0900am. Game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. Visit the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink. Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River. Thereafter depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area. Option at extra cost we will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Dinner and Overnight at Simba "A" campsite. 5Ngorongoro Crater Floor - Kilimanjaro Airport(240km - 4 hours)
Breakfast at 0600am. Thereafter descend into Ngorongoro Crater Floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610m deep, 304 sq km) for the Morning game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Ngorongoro Crater is often called 'Africa's Garden of Eden' the '8th Natural Wonder of the World'. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs and the large soda lake. All the Big five Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, and many more mammals. Birds includes flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Nowhere else can such a diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time. After game drive, on tarmac road to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home/Zanzibar.
